Hearing the news that you are expecting twins is both exciting and nerve wracking.

Of course, twins means you will need to rethink some things in planning for your new babies.

You will need two of some baby things and others like a double stroller are made especially for twins.

The nursery will not only hold one baby but two, and that may require extra thought in decorating. There are really no bedding sets that are specifically baby bedding for twins, but, there are lots of options for decorating the nursery for twins and many options will depend on whether the babies are going to be a girl and a boy or if they are the same sex.

If the babies are the same sex, you always have the option of choosing identical bedding sets. While this may seem like you are taking the easy way out, you will be sure that everything matches and/or coordinates if you select two matching bedding sets.

To jazz it up a little you could also select baby bedding for twins of the same sex in matching patterns but in totally different colors. If you wanted to decorate with earth tones, you might choose one set that is predominately green and another set that is predominately brown. Another nice idea is to select bedding in a light and a dark shade of one particular color. With any of these ideas the colors would work well together but each crib would have a different look through the use of different colors.

This idea can be carried over into a nursery that will be used for twins that are a boy and a girl. Find a bedding set that you like that is offered in several different colors and choose one color for the boy and another for the girl. Mix up your accessories as far as color. Again, because the pattern is the same the nursery will still have a unified look.

You can also choose a theme such as baby animals and then choose two totally separate bedding sets that have this common theme and use that as baby bedding for twins whether they are the same sex or opposite sex.

Of course there is no rule that says that crib bedding for twins has to match or coordinate in any way. If you find two sets of baby bedding that you like that have nothing in common, use them. You can decorate each side of the room to match and have the fun of not one, but two nursery themes.
