Once you learn that you are expecting a baby so many thoughts run through your mind, at least one of those thoughts is of creating and decorating your baby’s nursery. A room for a child is always fun to decorate and a nursery is especially fun.

The one must have when you are creating your nursery, is a crib. The crib will be used for anywhere from 1 to 2 years depending on your child. (Some children are great escape artists and trying to keep them in a crib is an exercise in futility.) With this in mind a crib that converts to a youth bed and/or a full size bed may be an option you want to think about.

You will probably want to paint the nursery walls. Since painting is a pretty big job, choose a color that will work for several years. Neutral colors are always good, but a pale shade of whatever color you choose can usually be used even when your baby is no longer a baby. Put off the painting until you are sure of the direction you want to take with the decor. You don’t want to have to repaint because the color you originally chose doesn’t work.

Now, we come to the really fun part choosing a theme for the nursery. If you can imagine a theme a bedding manufacturer has probably created a nursery crib set to fit the theme. There are themed bedding sets just for girls and just for boys and then there are those that will work for either one. The hard part is picking out just one.

Having a baby is one of the most joyful times in the lives of new moms and dads. So, have fun while creating and decorating your baby’s nursery.
